Blower door testing

As of 2011, all new residential constructions must undergo a blower door test conducted by a certified DET Verifier before a Certificate of Occupancy can be issued. This test measures the air tightness of the building, ensuring that the building envelope does not exceed more than 5 air changes per hour at a pressure difference of 50 Pascals (ACH50). Additionally, renovations that add more than 50% of the square footage also require this testing
